The United Nations reported on Tuesday that the fighting in eastern Ukraine has led to 730,000 people fleeing to Russia this year. U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) European director Vincent Cochetel said the figure does not include those who travel for trade or tourism purposes. "We've seen them at the border, just like in any other conflict. They walk, sometimes they just walk across the border, they come with plastic bags. Many of them are really destitute," Cochetel said. There are nearly 117,000 displaced inside Ukraine, with the number growing by 1,200 per day, said Cochetel. About 168,000 out of the 730,000 registered with Russia's Migration Service.
