Some 225,000 people have fled their homes in Ukraine because of the widening conflict, the UN agency for refugees says, dpa reported. While 130,000 have fled to Russia, 95,000 are displaced within Ukraine, a spokesman of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees says, citing Russian and Ukrainian statistics. In late June, the total number of displaced stood at 164,000 - 110,000 in Russia and 54,000 inside Ukraine. Many said they fled from eastern Ukraine because they were afraid of being caught in the crossfire between pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian forces, according to the UN.
