The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in eastern Afghanistan's Paktika province on 15 July 2014, which left at least 42 civilians dead and scores of others wounded. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of the wounded. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the OIC Secretary General added that by choosing a busy market-place full of shoppers in this holy month of Ramadan, shows the extent of the criminality of the perpetrators of this act of terror. Such criminals have not only defied Islam, but also their very humanity, he added. The Secretary General called on the Afghani Government to make every effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.
