The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed its hope that the 2015 Global Climate Accord leads to increase aspirations and broaden participation and action among all parties through the re-affirmation of the principles of the Accord and its obligations and to build on that. The Kingdom also believes that working on the issue of climate change is not aimed merely at mitigating the effects, but it includes a wider range of targets and in order to take meaningful actions, they must contribute to sustainable development. This came in a speech delivered by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineer Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi within the activities of Petersberg Climate Dialogue Conference which was held in Berlin, Germany, on July 13-14, 2014. He talked about the Kingdom's aspirations towards 2015 Global Climate Accord and its contributions to mitigate the effects of fuel, as well as its achievements concerning Lima Conference of the Parties.
