An Indian trooper was killed Wednesday when Pakistani snipers fired across a ceasefire line in the disputed Kashmir region, officials said, according to dpa. The incident occurred in India-administered Kashmir's Ranbir Singh Pura sector, about 25 kilometres south-west of the state's winter capital Jammu. Pakistani Rangers fired on a border security patrol, triggering an exchange of gunfire, an Indian official said. "Four of our men were wounded," he said. "One of them succumbed to injuries at a hospital."
