Italy demanded solidarity Tuesday from other EU countries to help shoulder the influx of migrants to its shores, even as the UN refugee agency reported that the bodies of 12 migrants had been picked up off the Libyan coast. The victims were three Syrians, three Eritreans and six Africans whose nationality had yet to be determined, dpa ctied the agency as saying. The search was on for survivors because the migrants were thought to have been travelling on a boat carrying about 200 passengers that likely shipwrecked Sunday. Italy is facing an unprecedented flow of migrants departing from northern Africa to reach Europe. About 70,000 have arrived this year so far, the Italian government said. -- SPA 20:19 LOCAL TIME 17:19 GMT تغريد
