Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday joined heads of state and representatives of a number of world countries at the inauguration of new Egyptian president Abdulfattah Al-Sisi. King Abdullah congratulated Al-Sisi for winning the confidence of the Egyptian people, wishing him success "in leading Egypt towards further achievement, progress and development in a manner that fulfils the hopes and aspirations of its people for a secure, prosperous and stable future that boosts its pivotal role in the region." After the inauguration and the signing of the document for the handover of power, King Abdullah met Sisi for a discussion on Jordanian-Egyptian ties and ways of cementing cooperation in various fields. The two leaders agreed to further strengthen "the brotherly relations and maintain coordination and consultation in the interest of the two countries and to serve pan-Arab issues." King Abdullah Jordan's support of Egypt and the "choice of its people," pledging to stand by the country's new leadership as it seeks to bring security and stability and pursues the building of the country.
