Ukraine's U.N. ambassador says there is no humanitarian crisis in his country. According to AP, Yuriy Sergeyev spoke to reporters Wednesday, two days after Russia's U.N. ambassador introduced a Security Council resolution that called for humanitarian aid corridors in eastern Ukraine. The resolution also demands an immediate halt to deadly clashes in the region. Ukrainian government troops have been fighting pro-Russian insurgents for weeks. Sergeyev says the resolution is not necessary. He says outside groups including the Red Cross have confirmed there is no humanitarian crisis. The spokesman for the U.N. secretary-general says the U.N. had not received any request from either Russia or Ukraine for the delivery of international aid to the region.
