The President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, who is also the Chairman of the International Council of News Agencies, signed in Baku today a memorandum of understanding with the President of Telegraph Azertag Aslan Aslanov in the field of exchange of news, photos and training at the headquarters of Azertag. During a visit to Azertag, Al-Hussein was briefed on the design of the new building of Azergag and met with heads and some personnel of the news agency. Al-Hussein said the MOU attaches great importance to the cooperation between the two news agencies. He added that signing the MOU on cooperation between the two news agencies comes as part of the keenness of SPA to expand its cooperation with a host of international counterparts, increase the spectrum of its transmission, and coordinate with these news agencies in the fields of exchange of news and media and training of media cadres. Al-Hussein pointed to the credibility of SPA among the international media and its plan to further widen its services in the world and benefit from the successful experiences of other regional and international news agencies, lauding the success achieved by Azertag and its quantum leap in the field of news as well as its endeavor to host international conferences. During the meeting, they reviewed ways of support and development between SPA and Azertag in view of the MOU signed between the two. Al-Hussein, expressed, in his capacity as the current President of the International Council of News Agencies, the readiness of SPA to provide support for and advice to Azertag on organizing the next conference to be held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku in 2016. For his part, the Director General of Azertag vowed the aspirations of his news agency and readiness to host the OUANA news agencies organization meeting and the International Council of News Agencies in 2016, lauding the great support being offered by SPA and the benefit from its experience in successfully organizing the 4th conference.
