UN places Boko Haram on al-Qaeda sanctions list

The UN Security Council has approved a request by Nigeria to place Boko Haram on its al-Qaeda sanctions list putting an assets freeze, travel ban and an arms embargo in effect against the Islamist group.
The British mission to the UN said on Twitter, according to dpa.
