Vienna-based King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue among followers of religions and cultures has hosted a two-day consultative meeting and workshops at its headquarters here in which a number of experts and religious leaders from different religions belonging to Central African Republic, Islamic Cooperation Organization, African Unity, and other international organizations interested in dialogue in Africa, took part from and discussed ways of building a peace process on co-existence and peace in the Central African Republic. The participants discussed means of taking the advantage of the presence of a host of religious leaders from all religious spectrum in Central African Republic to develop practical plans to help stop the current struggle in the African country. In collaboration with the Vienna-based center, the participants vowed to forge a strategy for dialogue and co-existence among all religious groups and factions. However, the participants confirmed that the struggle in Central African Republic is not of a religious nature, but political with deep-rooted historical and economic backgrounds. They lauded the initiative led by the center to enter into dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures in Central African Republic to help diffuse the socio-racial, political rifts among citizens of the African country.
