Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon. At the outset of the session, the Cabinet congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on winning the Cultural Personality Award for the year 2014 awarded by Sheikh Zayed Book Prize which considered this winning as a recognition of the King's humanitarian and cultural achievements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and at Arab, Islamic and international arenas, which have become a source of inspiration and examples to be followed all over the world. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiuddin Khoja said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session that the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments and events at the regional and international arenas, and a number of issues related to bilateral relations and the enhancement of the prospects for cooperation between the Kingdom and a number of brotherly and friendly countries in various fields. The Cabinet was briefed on the statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Arab States after a meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers in Riyadh, in which they emphasized the approval of their countries on the implementation mechanism of Riyadh document based on principles of the GCC Statute, and their agreement on the importance of the strict implementation of what has been committed to in order to maintain the gains and achievements.
