At least 12 people were killed when a bomb hit a passenger train in south-western Pakistan on Tuesday, officials said, a day after security forces killed scores of rebels in the area. More than 40 people were wounded in the attack that targeted the Jaffar Express in Sibi district of Balochistan province, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq said. The train was traveling from provincial capital Quetta to Rawalpindi city in Punjab province. Women and children were among the dead and injured, railways official Muhammad Ashraf told dpa from Sibi. At least a dozen people were trapped inside a carriage that caught fire, said Ashraf, who was overseeing the rescue operation.
