Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa which belong to the United Arab Emirates. The Ministerial Council stressed support for the United Arab Emirates' right of sovereignty over its three islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa as well as the territorial waters, airspace, continental shelf and exclusive economic zone of the three islands which are an integral part of the United Arab Emirates. The Ministerial Council considered any decisions, practices or acts carried out by Iran on the three islands as null and void, and that they do not change the historical and legal facts which give the United Arab Emirates the right of sovereignty over its three islands. The Ministerial Council called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to the efforts of the United Arab Emirates to resolve the issue through direct negotiations or resorting to the international Court of Justice. The Ministerial Council denounced the repeated and irresponsible statements issued by some Iranian officials regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain, considering such an act as a blatant interference in its internal affairs that does not serve the improvement and development of relations. The Council stresses its firm position that relations with Iran should be built on the foundations and principles of good neighborliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of the GCC member states, respecting the sovereignty of the region's countries and refraining from using or threatening to use force. The Ministerial Council stressed the importance of implementing the commitments contained in the Joint Action Plan signed by the Group 5+1 and Iran on November 24, 2013, under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, so as to enhance the confidence of the international community and dispel concerns about Iran's nuclear program. The Ministerial Council welcomed the outcome of the second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria which was hosted by Kuwait on January 15, 2014; as well as the outcome of the meeting of the Group of Friends of Syria which was held in Paris on January 13, 2014. The Ministerial Council expressed regret at the failure of the Geneva Conference II to reach concrete results that end the suffering of the Syrian people, stressing the need that the Syrian regime meet its obligations pursuant to the Geneva Conference I. The Ministerial Council underlines the importance of coordinating the movements of the international community to find a political settlement to the Syrian crisis on the basis of the implementation of Geneva I statement. The Council also welcomed Security Council Resolution No. 2139 which called for lifting the siege on Syrian cities, stopping attacks and raids on civilians, and facilitating the entry of humanitarian convoys.
