The Ministerial Council reiterated its firm stances in rejecting Iran's continuous occupation of the three isles of Tunb the Greater, Tunb the Lesser and Abu Musa of the United Arab Emirates, which were stressed in all previous statements, through: -Backing the United Arab Emirates' sovereignty on the three isles, their territorial waters, air space, continental shelf and Special Economic Zone, as an indispensable parts of the United Arab Emirates. -Expressing sorrow on failure that contacts with Iran failed to yield any positive outcomes that would lead to solve the issue of the three isles, in a way that contributes to consolidating the regional security and stability. -confirming that any behaviors or acts done by Iran at the isles are null and void, and will not change the historical and legal realities which endorse the United Arab Emirates' right of sovereignty on the isles. -Calling on Iran to respond positively to the United Arab Emirates pleas to solve the issue through, either direct negotiations or taking it to the International Court of Justice. The Ministerial Council strongly reiterated rejecting and denouncing continuous Iranian intervention in the internal affairs of the GCC member states and its violation of their sovereignty and independence. The meeting demanded Iran to abandon, immediately, such behaviors which do not serve the developing of relations with it, calling it to fully commit with the good neighborliness principles, stop intervening in the internal affairs of the GCC member states, observe mutual respect of international norms, laws and charters, solve disputes through peaceful means and direct dialogue, non use of force or threat to use it, in a way that would maintain regional security and stability. -- More
