The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has again underscored the importance of implementing the OPCW's Agreement as the mere presence and proliferation of chemical weapons constitute direct threat to the world peace and security. This came in a speech delivered by Saudi ambassador to the Kingdom of Holland Abdullah Al-Shaghroud who is also the Kingdom's permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) before the 75th session of the Executive Council of OPCW in the Hague today. He reiterated the Kingdom's call for making the Middle East a mass destruction weapons free zone. The ambassador expressed appreciation of the organization's current efforts aimed at dismantling Syria's chemical weapons calling upon the OPCW to speed up the dismantling process to make sure the country is chemical weapons-free no later than March 15th as prescribed by the agreement. He also called upon all member states to abide by the OPCW's requirements and resolutions.
