Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani stressed importance of cooperation in the face of many of the problems experienced by the Muslim world, especially minority issues, noting in this regard the situation in the Central African Republic and Myanmar. He pointed out that the situation in the Central African Republic requires movement because of the existence of murder and violation of many of the rights of Muslims there and that the Muslim minority in Myanmar are also exposed to a process of displacement and ethnic persecution. Madani made the remarks in a statement following a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy here today.
