The Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf has highlighted the importance of small and medium enterprises and their vital and great role in the economy and job creation. In his speech at the honoring ceremony of Saudi banks cooperating with "Sponsorship Program'' to Finance Small and Medium Enterprises", which was held in Riyadh last night, he expressed his thanks to the heads of the boards of directors; Chief Executive Officers and employees of Saudi banks for their considerable efforts over the past years, which were a critical factor in the development of the program and success to be one of the important mechanisms in support of the sector of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Assaf said also that concerted efforts of the competent authorities to provide support and assistance to those establishments were reflected positively on the amount of funding provided to them under the umbrella of the program, which exceeded seven billion Saudi riyals at the end of 2013. He called on all the concerned to implement the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to support the sector of small and medium enterprises for their active role in the economic development.
