RIYADH: Banks which have performed distinctive services by financing small and medium-sized enterprises, as part of the “Kafala Program”, will be honored by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance, at a function next Saturday. Representatives from the World Bank will also participate in the function during which they will review the bank's experience in financing these businesses. Some representatives from local banks will highlight their role in the field, provide a review focusing on the activities of the Kafala Program and the strategy drawn up by the banks to streamline the program in future. Also expected at the function will be top government officials, leading Saudi businessmen, some owners of small and medium businesses who have benefited from the program and chairmen and members of the board of directors involved in the program.
