The Jordanian Senate condemned continued attacks and violations committed by Jewish extremists in occupied Jerusalem against the holy sites in general and the Haram Al Sharif compound in particular. A statement read out by the Head of Palestine Committee, Senator Wajih Azayzah, during a session of the Senate today termed such attacks and violations as a flagrant violation of all international laws and charters, especially the Geneva Convention. "Such Israeli practices also violate signed international treaties and clearly contradict the Hashemite's custodianship of the holy sites that was approved by the peace treaty as well as the agreement between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the president of the Palestinian National Authority in March 2013," the statement added. The Senate, it said, views with deep concern Israel's provocative actions aimed at hurting and inciting the feelings of Arabs and Muslims across the world, and urged the Arab and Islamic world as well as the international community to take firm action against such violations, condemn the Israeli government and hold it fully responsible for such practices in Jerusalem, mainly against the Al Aqsa Mosque.
