Secretary General of The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdurrahman Hamad Al Atiyyah has strongly condemned Israel's serious violations and brutal attacks on the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa, carried out by the Israeli occupation forces and Jewish illegal settlers, and the barbaric attacks against the unarmed Palestinian people, blaming the Israeli government and holding them fully responsible of consequences of attacks and desecrations against the holy sites. "These provocative actions are flagrant violation of international law and are open defiance of international legitimacy," he said. The GCC Secretary-General stressed that what is happening in Al Quds( Jerusalem), Bethlehem and Hebron in the context of continued judaization is in total disregard to the feelings of Arab and Islamic nation as well as Islamic and Christian holy sites and especially Palestinian cultural rights. He urged the international community, the Security Council and the Quartet, in particular, to quickly take immediate action to deter frequent Israeli attacks on holy sites, and curb the Israeli arrogance which rejects peace and foments instability and tensions in the region. Al-Atiyyah stressed GCC's firm stand with the brotherly Palestinian people in their ordeal, to restore all legitimate rights and establish their independent state with (AlQuds) Jerusalem as its capital. --SPA
