Co-chaired by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Petroleum Affairs and Deputy U.S. Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman, the Saudi-U.S. Technical Committee for Petroleum and Energy Affairs held its annual meeting here today to discuss the state of the economy and the world nowadays, its expected future developments, the development of the global oil market and expectations of supply and demand in the coming years. Also, during the meeting, the two sides discussed programs of both countries in the process of the rational use of energy, benefit from the experiences of the two countries and technical cooperation in the field of energy in addition to the issue of renewable energy; such as nuclear, solar and wind power as well as issues of environment and climate change, international talks in this area and technical developments to preserve the environment, such as carbon dioxide injection.
