The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed that elimination of the chemical weapons in Syria is an international and important goal which is stated in the Security Council's resolution no. 2118 and decisions of the executive council. In his speech before the 38th meeting of the executive council of the organization this week, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shaghroud, Saudi ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, "as you know that deadline, Dec. 31, is passed without moving and removing Chemical materials to Latakia harbor in accordance with the decisions of the executive council supported by the Security Council's resolution no. 2118." Al-Shaghroud concluded his speech by emphasizing that the delay being committed by the Syrian regime will put the target date in June 30, 2014 for the disposal of chemical weapons program in jeopardy.
