Saudi Arabia Condemns Continuing Attacks and Provocative Acts in Holy Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 21 - 01 - 2014

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in its capacity as custodian of Islamic holy sites, condemned strongly continuing attacks, provocative acts in Holy Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the change of historical, religious identity and legal status of the holy sites in occupied Palestine, and the announcement of occupation authorities to build 1,400 housing units in settlements in occupied East Quds and elsewhere in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a speech delivered by the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mo'allemi at UN Security Council last night in the open debate on the situation in the Middle East, the Kingdom demanded that Israeli occupation authorities cease immediately all acts that lead to demographic change including the campaign of settlements, the demolition of Palestinian homes, usurpation of the residency rights of Palestinian citizens, and expelling them compulsorily in contrary to international humanitarian law.
Ambassador Al-Mo'allemi said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirms what was stated by the Arab League in its resolution No. 7719 dated on 12.21.2013, which included an emphasis on adherence to the Arab peace initiative, blaming the Israeli government for hindering the achievement of peace , and demanding that the United States of America, in its capacity as a sponsor of the peace negotiations, and other permanent members of the Security Council compel the Israeli government to stop settlement activities and lift the siege completely from the Gaza Strip.
He stressed that the achievement of a final settlement of the permanent status issues including Al-Quds, borders, refugees, security , and water must be compatible and consistent with the relevant United Nations resolutions and not contrary to what is guaranteed by the international law of the rights.
