Hussein said, "The decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to transform the agency into an independent information commission has helped it further in upgrading its information aspirations as it has been given broader spaces to spread globally in the field of distribution of its news bulletins. The Agency has recently hosted the largest gathering of the media in the Kingdom attended by more than 77 news agencies in the world which has had a significant impact on the exchange of information experiences with the international agencies and the opportunity to be briefed on the national achievements in the Kingdom." The agreement provides for enhancing cooperation between King Saud University and Saudi Press Agency in the field of human resources development, in terms of the preparation and implementation of training and qualifying programs, scientific supervision of training portfolios and their revision and the provision of specialized personnel, taking advantage of the scientific potentials of the faculty members at the university and its affiliated hospitals through the transmission of the Saudi Press Agency of news and press reports in its daily news bulletins or various information publications. The signing ceremony was attended by Director General of News Department at the Saudi Press Agency Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Awadh, Director of Technical Department Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs Majed Al-Majed, and a number of officials of King Saud University.
