The Saudi-Irish Business Council held here today 3rd meeting at the headquarters of the Council of Saudi Chambers in presence of Ireland's Prime Minister Enda Kenny and a number of Saudi and Irish businessmen. At the outset of the meeting, Eng. Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Mubti, Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers, welcomed the participants, expressing hopes that this meeting is to achieve aspirations and mutual interests of the two countries. He said that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ireland based on a strategic cooperation in a way to serve the interests of the two countries in the fields of economy and investment. He also lauded a visit paid by the Custodian of the Two holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Dublin in 1983 which resulted in signing a number of cooperation agreements between the two countries in various fields. He pointed out the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Ireland reaching more than $1.14 billion in 2012.
