Saudi ambassador to Ireland Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Darees held a reception party here today in honor of Dr. Yousef bin Tirad Al-Sa'adoon, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Cultural Affairs, and the Saudi and Irish delegations to the meetings of the joint committee for economic and technical cooperation between the two countries. The banquet was attended by Prince Turki bin Nawaf Al Saud, Attache at the Saudi embassy in Dublin, members of the Saudi Irish Parliamentary Friendship Association, a number of senior Irish government officials, members of the Saudi embassy in Dublin, and a number of diplomatic corps accredited to Ireland. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Darees lauded the existing friendship relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Ireland, describing it as distinguished. He underscored the importance of the current cooperation between the two countries saying that they cover economic, cultural and technical fields. He said the number of Saudi students on scholarships in Irish universities is increasing. He lauded the outcome of the visit paid by the Shoura Council delegation last month to Ireland, noting that they had meetings with both the President and Prime Minister of the Republic.
