The Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed with its Irish counterpart here today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of Joint Saudi-Irish Business Council for increasing trade exchanges and investment between the two countries. The signing ceremony was attended by Ireland's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Niall Holohan. The MoU was signed by the Council's President Eng. Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Mubti and President of the Irish side in the Council, Joseph Lynch. Eng. Al-Mubti said in a press statement that the Joint Business Council aims to increase trade and economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ireland. For his part, the President of the Irish side Joseph Lynch stressed his country's interest in promoting its economic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting the presence of nearly 2000 Saudi students studying in Ireland, and pointing to the prospects of cooperation in the areas of education, construction, medicine, agriculture, renewable energy and modern technology.
