The Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdullah Al-Jasser said that the Ministry will hold at the end of this week a celebration entitled "Saudi media and Arabic language" marking the United Nations Arabic Language Day on the anniversary of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1973 adopting the Arabic language within its official languages according to the decision of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). He stressed the importance of the Arabic language in preparation and presentation of audio-visual programs in Saudi media channels. It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja will honor on this occasion Former Minister of Education late Dr. Mohammed Al-Rashid (May Allah bestow mercy upon his soul) in recognition of his efforts and contributions in the service of the Arabic language.
