Riyadh, Al-Bilad, Okaz, Al-Madinah, Al-Watan, Al-Yaum, and Al-Sharq newspapers said that the final statement of GCC Summit in Kuwait expressed the common position of the GCC leaders towards the challenges and risks that threaten the security and stability of their countries. They noted that the Summit's approval of the creation of a unified military command for the GCC countries and promotion of cooperation in the economic field are considered as pillars in strengthening fraternal ties between the GCC countries, stressing that the Union becomes a necessity for the GCC governments and peoples. The papers stated that the vision that serves the interest of all peoples of the GCC states is the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to move from cooperation to the Union, indicating that Kuwait's final communiqué directs continuing consultations and completion of studying the King's proposal. The papers pointed to the importance of the Arab Gulf as a strategic region.
