Presided over by its speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Alsheikh, Majlis Al-Shura held here today its 61st ordinary session. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Fihad bin Metad Al-Hamad, Assistant Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura, said that the council discussed a report submitted by the Economic and Energy Affairs Committee regarding amendments to the current foreign investment system. After listening to the various viewpoints regarding the amendment request, the council approved the formation of a specialized committee tasked with reviewing the draft amendment. The council also approved a draft general agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as well as a draft headquarters agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and World Assembly of Muslim Youths (WAMY). The council also discussed a report submitted by the Security Affairs Committee regarding a request to amend the 7th article of the Internal Security Forces System. Al-Shura council also discussed a report presented by the Islamic and Judiciary Affairs Committee regarding the annual report of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta for the fiscal year 1433/1434H. Then, the council discussed a report brought for debate by the Transport, Communication and Information Technology Committee on the annual performance of the Saudi Post for the fiscal year 1433/1434H.
