Zayani said the ministers expressed concern over the security risks engulfing their countries and underscored the importance of facing them with the needed coordination and determination through strategic security plans to protect security and stability of their countries. They approved the establishment of the GCC Police authority and assigned a task team to put the organizational, administrative and financial requirements of the new body which is expected to further enhance work among themselves, he said, adding that the ministers also approved the outcome of two extraordinary meeting of the undersecretaries of the ministries of interior on the necessary measures to be taken against the interests of Hizbollah and its members as well as collaborators and accomplices in the GCC countries. Dr. Al-Zayani said the ministers increased the value of late Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Prize for Security Research for the GCC countries from SR400,000 to one million Saudi Riyal, honoring the four laureates of the prize. He said the ministers welcomed signing the headquarters agreement between the GCC Emergency Center and Kuwait. They approved convening of annual meetings for the Hazards Administration of the GCC countries and lauded the efforts being exerted by the Doha-based Criminal Information Center for Combating Drugs.
