U.S. stocks closed slightly higher Tuesday, as the market continued its record run and shares of a number of major retailers were on the move ahead of Black Friday. The dollar gained ground against the euro, the pound, and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for January delivery dropped 41 cents to $93.68 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures added 20 cents to $1,241.40 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 0.26, or 0.00 percent, to 16,072.80. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index moved up 0.27, or 0.01 percent, to 1,802.75. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 23.18, or 0.58 percent, to 4,017.75.
