U.S. stocks closed higher Monday, starting the month of June off with a win. The dollar lost ground to the euro, the pound, and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for July delivery gained $1.48 to $93.45 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures rose $18.90 to $1,411.90 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average moved up 138.46, or 0.92 percent, to 15,254.03. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 9.68, or 0.59 percent, to 1,640.42. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index climbed 9.46, or 0.27 percent, to 3,465.37.
