The Dow industrials and broader Standard & Poor's 500 index climbed to new highs Friday morning, one day after reassuring remarks by Federal Reserve (Fed) chair nominee Janet Yellen that the U.S. central bank's accommodative policies would continue. Still, the advance was limited, with both indexes on track for a sixth consecutive week of gains and the S&P 500 less than 10 points away from 1,800. The technology-heavy Nasdaq index was near a 13-year high. In mid-morning trade, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 0.25 percent, the S&P 500 was nearly 0.2 percent higher, and the Nasdaq composite index had gained less than 0.1 percent.
