Major U.S. indexes fell today, after climbing more than 6 percent on Monday, as investors digested the tension between Congress and the Obama administration's economic team. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 41 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.6 percent. The S&P 500 was down 0.9 percent. The front-month crude-oil futures contract slid to about $53 a barrel after settling at its highest level this year on Monday.
