Hussain, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), expressed his pleasure to sign this agreement with Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University, pointing out that this is SPA's first step towards enhancing media partnership with the universities and the academic bodies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In his speech during the signing ceremony, Al-Hussain also stressed that SPA looks forward to enhance cooperation with all universities which contribute in the renaissance of the country's development movement. "SPA seeks, through this agreement, to enhance the aspirations of government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier in facilitating applying provisions of the National Strategy for Sciences and Technology which seeks to transfer into a knowledge society," the SPA President added. "Upon the directives and follow-up of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Press Agency, the SPA aims to highlight the media role through publication of the universities' intellectual and scientific studies," Al-Hussain stressed. The SPA President lauded the scientific and cultural activities of Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University, expressing appreciation of the great efforts exerted by the Rector of Imam university to achieve this step. Al-Hussain pointed out that the Saudi Press Agency will organize the Fourth News Agencies World Congress (IV-NAWC) which is one of the important international conferences, highlighting that the SPA extends invitations to more than 120 world news agencies to attend the conference. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of officials.
