AlHijjah 23, 1434, Oct 28, 2013, SPA -- Three people died Monday after fire engulfed a car at Beijing's Tiananmen Square, dpa cited reports as saying. The car crashed through barriers close to the Tianan Gate on the north side of the square just after noon (0400 GMT), according to reports and photographs by state media and micro-bloggers. Eleven tourists and police officers were injured as the vehicle, identified as a jeep, crashed through the barriers in front of the heavily guarded gate. Emergency services put out the fire and sent the 11 injured people to local hospitals, the official Xinhua news agency quoted police as saying. It was not clear whether police were treating the incident as accidental or deliberate.
