AlHijjah 19, 1434, Oct 24, 2013, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues. Locally, Alwatan and Albilad newspapers highlighted the Saudi position rejecting a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council as expression of discontent by Arab and Islamic peoples over failures of the Security Council to deal properly and fairly with Arab and Islamic issues. On another issue, Alriyadh newspaper commented on changing Arab-US relations, calling for expanding relations with various powers. Almadinah and Okaz newspapers commented on the political developments of the Syrian crisis especially the chances of the success of Geneva 2 conference while Alyoum newspaper commented on the Palestinian cause suggesting the possibility of the start of a third Palestinian Intifada (uprising.) Finally, Alsharq newspaper commented on the situation in Tunisia calling for unity among the different parties there.
