AlHijjah 18, 1434, Oct 23, 2013, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues. Locally, Almadinah newspaper described the tripartite summit meeting held in Jeddah yesterday as a wise move. The meeting brought together the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and UAE. Okaz and Alyoum newspapers highlighted the Saudi position rejecting a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council as expression of discontent by Arab and Islamic peoples over failures of the Security Council to deal properly and fairly with Arab and Islamic issues. Regionally, Alwatan, Alsharq and Alriyadh newspapers commented on the political developments of the Syrian crisis, criticizing waste of time in political maneuvers and strongly attacking statements by Bashar Al-Assad on the kingdom. Finally, Albilad newspaper criticized the notion of the so-called "Jewishness" of Israel as an attempt to re-religionize the conflict.
