AlQa'dah 25, 1434, Oct 1, 2013, SPA -- The education ministers of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) member states opened their 7th consultative meeting in Doha on Tuesday. The Supreme Education Council (SEC) said in a statement issued here today that the ministers mainly discussed a host of issues inter-alia the ABEGS's (2015-20) strategy which outlines the policy strategy and modus operandi of the bureau in the next period. The ABEGS ministers also reviewed a set of educational issues related to the education process in the ABEGS member states and the experiences of the member states in the educational fields, QNA reported. At the beginning of the meeting , Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahed Al Hammadi, who is also the SEC Secretary General, has stressed the key importance of the meeting aiming at exchanging the leading experiences and reciprocating viewpoints and ideas in that sector, education, which is considered one of the most important sectors of development. The Arab Gulf states are always seeking to develop and elevate such a sector through their respective national vision and the strategic development plans and development initiatives, said Al-Hammadi. The strategy of the ABEGS is one of the indicators, through which the ABEGS aims to integrate its programs with its organs and conform in consistency with what is implemented by concerned ministries of developmental projects and programs.
