AlQa'dah 24, 1434, Sep 30, 2013, SPA -- German sports officials voted Monday to nominate Munich as a candidate to host the 2022 winter Olympic Games, dpa reported. Member associations of the German Olympic sport movement DOSB voted for a bid by the Bavarian city along with winter sport venues Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Schoenau am Koenig see and Ruhpolding. The bid will now go to local referendums on November 10, four days before the International Olympic Committee's application deadline. Munich failed with a bid to host the 2018 winter Games, which will be staged in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The IOC will vote on the 2022 winter Games hosts on July 31, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur. The only confirmed bid is from Almaty, Kazakhstan, but a number of cities are seen as potential candidates.
