Bach says IOC presidency won't harm any Munich Games bid

AlQa'dah 5, 1434, Sep 11, 2013, SPA -- Thomas Bach said his election as president of the International Olympic Committee won't affect any bid by Munich to host the 2022 winter Games, according to dpa.
The 59-year-old German said in Buenos Aires Wednesday the factthat he was now IOC president could in fact be positive sign forMunich.
If Munich does make another bid after its failed candidacy for the2018 winter Games IOC members "will remember how much I devotedmyself to Munich 2018," he said.
Leading IOC official Richard Pound also said Bach's rise would notplay a role in any Munich bid.
