AlQa'dah 12, 1434, Sep 18, 2013, SPA -- Around 2,750 tourists have been flown out of the Mexican resort city of Acapulco following floods that came in the wake of tropical storm Manuel, the Transportation Ministry said Wednesday. The vacationers were brought by military and commercial airline flights to Mexico City, DPA reported. Authorities estimate that around 40,000 tourists, primarily from Mexico City, are stranded in Acapulco. The city in the south-western state of Guerrero has been largely cut off from the outside world by floods and landslides. Air travellers have had to be brought directly to the runways because the airport terminal was flooded. So far at least 57 people have died in Mexico after tropical storm Manuel slammed the west coast on Sunday and Hurricane Ingrid made landfall on the east coast Monday.
