AlQa'dah 9, 1434, Sep 15, 2013, SPA -- Hurricane Ingrid was being blamed for two deaths Sunday even though it was not forecast to make landfall over eastern Mexico until Monday, officials said. A hurricane warning was in effect for Mexico's gulf coast from Cabo Rojo to La Pesca as Ingrid moved northwest at a speed of 7 mph, UPI quoted the National Hurricane Center as reporting. The Mexican government also posted a hurricane watch north of La Pesca to Bahia Algodones, and a tropical storm warning northward from Bahia Algodones to Rio San Fernando. Ingrid was located about 160 miles east of Tampico and 180 miles southeast of La Pesca at 4 a.m. CDT Sunday, the hurricane center said. Hurricane force winds extended as far as 35 miles from the center and tropical storm force winds were felt as far as 90 miles from the center. Ingrid was expected to dump 10 to 15 inches of rain over much of eastern Mexico and perhaps as much as 25 inches in some places, forecasters said. So far, Ingrid has caused two deaths, while Tropical Storm Manuel, in the Pacific Ocean on Mexico's west coast, has resulted in the deaths of three people. Circumstances of the deaths were not reported. Ingrid's outer bands reached Mexico's central state of San Luis Potosi Saturday, causing damage to roads and flooding homes. Tropical storm conditions were likely late Sunday in the affected areas.
