AlQa'dah 6, 1434, Sep 12, 2013, SPA -- Eight people have died in flooding in eastern Romania and hundreds were evacuated, the Mediafax news agency reported Thursday citing the local authorities. An 8-year-old girl was among those who drowned, the report said. According to dpa, torrential rains in the region of Galati led to flooding in 17 villages. In some homes, water levels reached one metre. Some 700 homes were affected and 500 people brought to safety, the report said. Highways in the area were submerged and impassable, as were railway tracks.
