AlQa'dah 4, 1434, Sep 10, 2013, SPA -- The first of the 5,000 refugees that Germany is taking in from Syria are due to arrive in Hanover on Wednesday, dpa reported. The about 110 refugees will be part of a special programme that was set up by the German government earlier this year. The majority of Syrian refugees are expected to arrive in Germany in the next few weeks by chartered flights, with a few organizing their own travel to the country. Instead of applying for asylum, those arriving under the special programme will receive a residence permit for an initial two years.
