Published in Saudi Press Agency on 09 - 09 - 2013

AlQa'dah 3, 1434, Sep 9, 2013, SPA -- Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon .
The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) after the session that the Cabinet was briefed on a series of reports on the development of events in the region and the world. The Cabinet followed up international efforts and measures aimed to deter the Syrian regime from committing more non-humanitarian practices against the Syrian people, renewing the Kingdom's firm positions toward this crisis and its calls on the international community to fulfill its humanitarian responsibilities to save the Syrian people and end their sufferings of the criminal acts, collective genocide, serious violations, and the insistence of the Syrian regime to increase the killing of its people with all kinds of weapons.
The Cabinet stressed that among the most important reasons for instability in the Middle East are the continued Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, the rejection of the Israeli authorities of all international initiatives and resolutions and their insistence to aggravate the situation through many inhumane practices against the Palestinian people. The Cabinet condemned in this regard Israeli acts of aggression on worshipers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque after Friday prayers, the ongoing storming of the Mosque , and continuing building of settlements to wipe out the hopes in the establishment of a Palestinian State in which the Palestinian people enjoy a decent life.
The Cabinet stressed the Kingdom's appeals and calls on all international and effective powers and bodies for the importance of achieving peace and stability in the Middle East region because of its historical, cultural, and economic importance and its stability and growth are reflected on the whole world.
