AlQa'dah 1, 1434, Sep 7, 2013, SPA -- Pakistan said Saturday it would free seven Afghan Taliban prisoners, including a former senior commander, to help reconciliation efforts in Afghanistan, dpa reported. The move by the Pakistani government came after Afghan President Hamid Karzai urged Islamabad during an official visit in August to help set up talks with rebels allegedly based in Pakistan. The Foreign Ministry named the prisoners as commander Mansoor Dadullah, Said Wali, Abdul Manan, Karim Agha, Sher Afzal, Gul Muhammad and Muhammad Zai. It said they were being released in addition to 26 others released during the last year. An Afghan official in Kabul said the move was "a positive but small step by the Pakistani government." -- SPA 19:52 LOCAL TIME 16:52 GMT تغريد
