Awwal 13, 1432, April 17, 2011, SPA -- The leaders of Pakistan and Afghanistan announced Saturday a joint commission to promote peace and stability on their shared border. Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and President Hamid Karzai held talks in Kabul on how to move forward as the United States and NATO pull back from Afghanistan, the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported. They said the Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Commission will have two tiers. Karzai said Gilani's trip to Pakistan represents a "fundamental shift" in relations between the two countries. Gilani told reporters in Pakistan before his departure for Kabul he was taking a "message of love" to the Afghans, the BBC reported.
